Today, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) presents its 2022 Annual Activity Report. The report provides a summary of the work carried out by the EDPB in the last year, and includes the results of a guidance review carried out among stakeholders and, for the first time, a thematic digest with a selection of examples of final One-Stop-Shop decisions.
“This Report clearly demonstrates how much work is done by the EDPB in the span of a year, in terms of issuing guidance, consistency documents, legal advice and adopting binding decisions. The role of the EDPB has changed substantially since 2018. We have become an influential player in the European Economic Area (EEA) digital economy. We do not just ensure that data protection law is applied consistently across the EEA, but help shape Europe’s digital future,” said Andrea Jelinek, Chair of the EDPB.
