International transfers and international cooperation
When personal data is transferred outside the EU, the protection offered by the data protection legislation should travel with the data. This means that these transfers are only allowed if the destination country provides an adequate level of data protection, or if specific safeguards, like Standard Contractual Clauses or Binding Corporate Rules, are in place to protect personal data.
The EDPB and DPAs cooperate with their counterparts and other data protection fora across the globe.
