Learning about the nice and the risky sides of the online world

The Hellenic DPA developed a microsite dedicated to children, while being useful for parents too. The microsite aims to raise awareness of rights and responsibilities in relation to the protection of privacy online.

It provides practical knowledge and guidance divided into four sections: 

• privacy in general (what is privacy, what are personal data, how are they processed, data subjects' rights and examples), 
• publishing/sharing ("written words remain", own consent and consent of others, examples), 
• online contacts (identity theft, online fraud, phishing, malware) 
• social media (how they work, risks, online "friends", privacy settings, data breaches, examples)
