Data protection for children: awareness campaign from IDPC
Protecting Personal Data Online
Launched by Malta’s Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC) for Data Protection Day 2026, this awareness campaign includes an animated educational video and a booklet with lesson plans for children aged 7–10. It aims to raise awareness about online privacy and help children recognise potential risks when using apps, games and online platforms.
The booklet provides practical activities, discussion prompts and guidance for educators to explain key data protection concepts in a child-friendly way. Together, the video and booklet encourage children to think before sharing personal information, make safer choices online and understand their data protection rights.
