Artificial intelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to computer systems that can perform tasks typically requiring human intelligence such as analysing data, recognising patterns, and making decisions. AI is used in various areas, from virtual assistants to predictive tools in healthcare and finance. While AI may bring many opportunities and benefits to different industries and areas of life, it also raises data protection-related concerns.
The EDPB offers guidance to support responsible and compliant AI innovation by ensuring personal data is protected when processed to develop  AI technologies.
