EDPB helps kids stay safe online

  • EDPB News

Brussels, 04 November - European Data Protection Authorities (DPAs) work together to protect personal data, especially for children who are more vulnerable online. Kids may not recognise risks easily, trust strangers, or share personal data carelessly. Many apps collect their data, and without proper safeguards, they could be exposed to harmful content and leave long-lasting digital footprints.

This is why the EDPB launches ‘Privacy for Kids’, a new hub for parents, teachers, and educators. It provides engaging and children friendly resources such as games, videos and quizzes, to understand online privacy.

Eddy the beaver and his friends will guide you through materials from DPAs from all over Europe, available in different languages.

An intuitive filtering system helps you find educational resources by selecting from:

  • Age groups: 3-10, 11-15, and 16+.
  • Geographic coverage: all 27 EU Member States plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway
  • Topics: sharing online, social media, smartphones and apps, privacy at home, privacy at school, cyberbullying, smart toys, etc.
  • Content formats: projects, informational campaigns, games, infographics, videos, quizzes, and more.

Explore the new hub and share this video with young people to spread the word!
